ISL News: Kerala Blasters and SC East Bengal To Face Transfer Ban

Reports are emerging from all corners that Indian Super League outfits, Kerala Blasters and SC East Bengal will be handed a transfer ban by FIFA for failure to comply with "Financial Obligations In Accordance With the Decision of FIFA"

The ban implies both sides is not allowed to register new players at national level from the upcoming transfer window.

Why The Ban:

The Ban on the Tuskers is the result of a Complaint about the unpaid salary by former player Matej Poplantik, who was a part of the Side during the 2018-19 season. However for East Bengal, it is a similar situation involving former Costa Rica World Cup player, Johnny Acosta.

How to lift The Ban:

The ban on both Clubs will be Lifted as soon as the players are paid their dues. The clubs will be able to sign and register new plyers in that case. Although it seems a case of negligence and gross management on the part of the club officials, this isn't something Indian footballers and Indian football isn't accustomed  to. Every year numerous players from different clubs have raised the issue over non-payment of their dues. It is high time Indian Clubs and Franchises realize the importance of playing the dues to the players in time.

Goal has reported, Kerala Blasters are already on a front foot and have initiated steps to rectify the Situation. And are hoping for the ban to be lifted soon once the Payment is done. However, things seem a little Tricky for East Bengal as already they have similar cases involving former players Abhishek Ambedkar, Eugeneson Lungdoh and CK Vineeth pending against them for the similar cause. If the players manage to win their respective cases, it will add to the liabilities of the club as the officials and the investors are locked in a power struggle over the final agreement.
